Obsolete Parts FAQ:
How do you get my inventory on your site?
You will extract from your DMS a list of the parts in a .csv format.
For Arkona you can use Data Extraction or Data Transfer
For Reynolds use report generator 6910
For all other consult your DMS unless you already know how.
How does a parts sale flow through the system?
The customer will purchase a part through the myobsoleteparts.com shopping cart. We will collect the money for the transaction except for any additional shipping. Myobsoleteparts.com will then send you an email with all of the details.
The dealer will bill Auto Dealer Improvements for the parts and will collect any additional shipping from the customer. Auto Dealer Improvements will then cut a check on the 20th of each month to pay the dealer for the parts sales during the previous month minus our 15% fee.
How often should I upload my inventory?
As often as you like but at least once a month to correct for any price changes on the factory price tape.
What make myobsoleteparts.com different from OEConnection or D2Dlink?
While those organizations do an excellent job of trading inventory you as the dealer lose on average half of your initial investment on the parts. Also your inventory is only exposed to other dealerships and to a limited degree body shop organizations. These organizations also charge a monthly fee for the service which is an expense to the dealer.

Myobsoleteparts.com is looking to expose inventory not only to other dealers and wholesalers but also to all independent repair shops, body shops, Insurance companies, and the general public. Myobsoleteparts.com charges a one time setup fee to expose your inventory.

After that we don’t make money unless you do, by collecting a 15% commission per the selling price of each item sold not including the shipping.
